Woohoo! I'm so proud of you for not being too stubborn to make that number any way you had to. (It was the thought of no cheese; I know it was. ;-) I have a feeling that catching up to the word count yesterday, by whatever means necessary, will make it easier for you to keep your count up in the future. After all, it's "only" 1613 a day. Yeah, if 1613 were so only, any fool could do this. Okay, enough procrastinating; time to fire up Alphie and get a few words down before showering for work.
Jenny, I will bet if you take an hour and go back through your manuscript changing out contractions, you will find your word count skyrocketing. Do it in bits when you take a break tomorrow and see where it lands you. If it does not add up to at least 100 extra words, I will pay for the cheese Thursday night. (n.b. there were 4 in those few sentences)
