Slow Going...

Wrote nothing yesterday, except in my trusty yellow legal pad. Nothing sounded right. Trying too hard, I think. Maybe when I type it up, necessary changes will suggest themselves. It turns out that Eva (chromatophores under the skin) is from another galaxy. Who knew? Here's something that popped out the other day:
The Arcturans showed up just after the turn of the millenium. Unheralded, they settled in back streets and bodegas. Except for the chromatophores, and a tendency to broadness in the shoulders, they were indistinguishable from the general population. And since expectations were as alien to them as palm trees are to Greenland, they fit in immediately. They brought with them a gentle haze of goodwill. You simply felt good being around an Arcturan. They were better than Valium, better than Haldol. The combined pharmaceutical empire promptly crashed into the sea of its own greed. Biochemical engineers who had designed the drugs, became the new population of street people.
See you all tonight.
