Day 4 - Mini Marathon and much progress

I just got done writing for about 3 1/2 hours or so and just called it quits. Maybe. I'll let you know tomorrow if I decide to write anymore.

A lot of things started to fall into place today. I can't say that Simon surprised me, but the plot did. A few seemingly random things just started to set up some pretty major happenings later. The overall plot is starting to show through and I actually got some of the backstory written. More backstory is planned, I just haven't filtered it through my fingers yet. I need to find a place where it fits. I also need to figure out what he's going to do for the next week (in story time, of course).

Quick synopsis: Simon was drugged during yesterday's writing, but he was lucky enough to fall unconscious in the doctor's office. This sets up some major opportunities for me later. Right now, he thinks that he has 3 (count 'em, three) incurable STD's including full blown AIDS.
I've also started his back story, which today focused on his "training" as a child. His stepfather (a redneck wannabe soldier who was rejected during Vietnam) forced him to endure a rather grueling physical training regimen which turned him into a lean, mean fighting/stealing machine. (Think evil ninja, not the Tom Selleck variety, sorry Jenny) More back story to come, complete with more from his horrid redneck stepfather. (next time gets really bad)

Barbara, Simon hates you for challenging me as to how mean I can be to my characters.

Today's word count (drum roll, please): 3251
Overall word count: 9488 (oooh, so close to 10,000!)

-Adam
