Almost Time for Pie

I went out to survey my domain this afternoon and saw that the rhubarb is growing like mad.  Pretty soon it'll be time to make a pie.  I wonder if I can make a half of a pie.  I'd love a slice of pie but I don't want to have it all hanging around the house.  Maybe I'll just make the filling and cook it and freeze it so I can have a spoonful when I'm craving pie.  That could work.

All of the perennials on top of the retaining wall are growing great guns too.  I'm looking forward to the time when they start to bloom.  There are already weeds starting to grow.  I hate weeds and I'm afraid to walk down the top of the wall to pull them.  Maybe I can find a yard man or kid.

I finished the Striped Stix hat tonight at Friday Night Knitting, all except the pompom.  I wasn't planning to make one but the hat turned out pointier than I thought it would and I think it needs a pompom to flatten it a bit.

Today's toss was a too-big pair of pajamas.  I thought about just wearing them but I put on another pair like these, turned over in bed, and the shirt didn't turn with me.  Not comfortable.  They'll fit someone else.

The prompt today said that a friend is about to do something stupid.  How do you stop them?  First, I'd yell STOP!, and if they didn't I'd hang around to pick up the pieces when things fell apart.  That's what I'd do.

I had a writing Zoom with friends at noon today that went pretty well.  What I wrote wasn't as whiny as my writing has been.  Then I caught up with the Page-a-day Art Gallery picture prompts and, while they're short, they're more like what I wrote before.  Getting better every day.

You could make kind of a rustic tart w only bottom crust & just fold it around edge. Or even muffin tins for individual servings.

I love they striped hat. It is truly a thing of beauty! Very impressed w your skills. I vote for a pom-pom.

Nancy must have clicked on "Leave your comment" three times! She was determined and I admire that. And I do like her suggestion of muffin-tin pies. The rhubarb looks like a well-organized floral arrangement. Cute hat and I also vote for a pom-pom.
