Well, I managed to write "The End" at 49,705 words. I was right that I would run out of story before 50k, but just barely. Then I wrote a letter to the reader and some Acknowledgments. Not that I needed them, but they were interesting filler.
Today's word count: 1768
Overall: 50,150 (Yeah!)
Chris Baty was right: this is far from a work of genius, but it is surprisingly uncrappy.
