Ok...so I took a month off from writing after November and it had its good points as well as it not so good points. But it's now the New Year and back to writing!
Write About Sunday Afternoon
(ugh...what a way to start out the year of prompts)
There had been no time for tears as Chloe raced through the airport terminal. The long weekend spent in Gavin's arms was over almost before it even began and now she was in jeopardy of missing her flight home. Chloe maneuvered through the crowds as she called out apologies over her shoulder whenever her purse or carry-on bag collided with someone. Ignoring the curses directed at her in numerous languages, Chloe pushed forward until she arrived at Gate C3. She dropped her bags at her feet and looked up at the flight status board. Her flight was delayed by forty-five minutes. It was only upon realizing her race through the terminal was for naught that Chloe began to shed hot, bitter tears.
Forty-five. That seemed to be the number for everything that had happened once she got to the airport with Gavin at her side. The airline representative had told her she would be unable to check her luggage as she missed the forty-five minute window for check-in. Chloe and Gavin then waited in line for forty-five minutes hoping for another flight in which she and her luggage could travel together. It was only when they reached the front of the line that they were told another flight was available, however once again, the forty-five minute window had passed and Chloe's luggage could not be checked. Chloe watched as Gavin argued with the airline representative. We should be holding each other and saying a long, romantic good-bye, Chloe thought to herself. Yet, she had to admit, it was nice seeing a man stand up for her; something she had not experienced before in her life.
