A Slog of Errands

That was our day.  We started with breakfast out, supposed to be with some old co-workers of Durwood's but no one else showed.  We groceried, picked up prescriptions, and returned stuff.  By the time we got home around 1 o'clock Durwood was pooped, I was too but I hauled myself over to Artigras, an annual winter art show, to see if the potter who makes the bowls we like (and Durwood broke one of) was there and she was.  She didn't have any of the bowls I wanted on hand but she said she had some at home and will send me some next week.  I paid up so she won't put it off, not that I don't trust her, I've bought a crapload of bowls and prep dishes and small plates from her over the years and I flat out like her.

To justify paying to park and to get in I cruised the aisles and found this bread baking bowl.  It even came with a recipe.  I love the colors and it's supposed to hold a half-loaf which would be just about right for me and the old guy.  Since I'll be whipping up some dough later today I may just try it out tomorrow.  I'm going to find a nice whole wheat bread recipe and make some nice fresh, sweet smelling bread.

When I stepped out the front door this morning there was a nice row of icicles grown along the south-facing gutters and then I noticed that the red twigs of the Variegated Dogwood on the corner were covered with ice, so I snapped a few pictures.  Good thing too, because by the time we were back from erranding they were all melted.

Last night I got a ways along on the crocheted Bunny Lovie I'm making in case a small person wanders by. Who am I kidding?  It's for LC; I know it, you know it, let's just leave it at that.  Durwood thinks that all we do is gossip at Friday Night Knitting but we don't.  Last night we talked about eye exams and finding reasonably priced glasses, who you should talk to for info about your prescriptions (the consensus is your pharmacist, not the doctor, those guys don't study up on things like the pharmacist does), and I told a tale of a stolen bra and a motel room with a Jacuzzi in Wausau.  Well, somebody had to make people laugh, it was getting kind of serious in there.  Remind me sometime and I'll tell you the story too.

I didn't write last night so I'm just going to wrap this up.  I hope you remember to turn your clocks an hour ahead (Spring forward, Fall back) and to change the batteries in your smoke alarms.  Happy Saturday.  I'm going to go put my feet up, they're tired.

I can't figure out that bunny lovie thingie you're making. I know it isn't finished so somewhere in there there's a bunny!!! And yes, we did remember the clocks and the batteries -- at least Paul did. Even my body did because I woke up at my usual time this morning -- 7:00 a.m. in the NEW time!
