Too Close For Comfort

I looked out the patio door and look what was looking in--the whistlepig (woodchuck) (groundhog)! Not what I want to see. I tapped, okay, pounded on the glass and it ran off but was back within just a few minutes so I rapped on the glass again and this time when it moved away I opened the door and stepped outside. Then it really ran. Haven't seen it since but I filled the bird feeders so I wonder if it'll be back once the seed starts to fall.

See the little yellow flowers on my new tomato plant? I'm hoping that each and every one turns into a tomato so I can buy a loaf of bread, a pound of (turkey) bacon, and get some lettuce at the farmer's market so I can have BLTs. Maybe I'll buy a tomato or two when they show up at the farmer's market to have some practice BLTs. Yeah, that's a good idea.

While I was mowing this morning (and sweating like a pig, it's humid) I saw that the yellow day lily is blooming. It's tucked against the fence but it stayed in the yard.

And the milkweed is blooming too. No caterpillars though. I've never seen one caterpillar on there but I keep hoping.

While I was cooling off from mowing I whipped up a batch of Easy Egg Drop Soup. I take the basic recipe and add chopped mushrooms, white meat chicken, and sliced baby bok choy so that I can eat the soup for a meal not just an appetizer. I like soup that has body and sticks to my ribs.

After my shower (man, did I need a shower!) I did today's flower out of Ink & Wash. It's Plumeria. It was easy to paint but a little challenging to get it to look right.

The gratitude journal page for today was an easy one. One of these days I'll manage to draw a lawnmower that looks like a lawnmower and not some Franken-mower. Oh well, you get the idea.

While I was mowing I strained a muscle in my back. I don't know how I managed it but if I find out how I won't do it again. Guess I'll be having Tylenol as a bedtime snack.

Tonight was OJ's last regular season soccer game. This weekend is their tournament but OJ and DS will be at Cub Scout camp. They may make it back for the afternoon game on Sunday. If they do I'll be sure to be there to cheer OJ on. Every game he gets better. It's fun to watch.

Drove home from the game tonight into the sunset. The sun was that gorgeous pink orange color and I wish I could have taken a picture but it just isn't safe to juggle my phone going 70 mph and on a high bridge. Nope, not safe at all, and by the time I was on level ground the sun had sunk low enough that it was behind the trees. Oh well, I got to enjoy it anyway. Trust me, it was beautiful.

Oh my goodness -- what a sight to greet you first thing in the morning!! He looks like he wants to come in. Sorry you hurt your back. LD is nursing a pulled muscle too. His happened when he was washing the car. Like you -- not some strenuous, twisting effort. Thank goodess for Tylenol.
