Ta-Da!

This is the last insect from Ink & Wash: In the Garden. It's a Honeybee on a just opening daisy. I think it turned out great. I'm sorry for this book's challenges to end but I'll hang on to the book and go through it again one of these days. Next up comes Ink & Wash: Floral. It looks hard.

Here's another one of Dad's roses. It was just posed there looking at me so I had to take its picture.

I was so happy with the way the watercolor turned out today that I pulled out the drawing sketchbook and 20 Ways to Draw a Jellyfish to try my hand at more drawings. They turned out okay.

This afternoon I made another batch of rhubarb sauce. This time it seemed to keep a bit of its pink coloring. I don't know why. I was looking forward to having it for breakfast tomorrow but I have to fast after midnight because I'm having another endoscopy tomorrow. So I'll have it for breakfast on Wednesday. No big deal.

I had a lot to be grateful for today. I went to lunch with two of the neighbors from our old neighborhood. We laughed and cried and caught up on each others' kids. We'll do it again. Then tonight was knitting with friends and food--and this time we really did knit, after eating tacos and queso and chips. I brought some of the cake leftover from Fourth of July. It was a hit. I've got the rest of it in the freezer and will portion it out for next month's knitting night.

I got the submissions from my new critique group today and spent part of the afternoon reading through them. I'm excited to start again.

Love, love, love the honey bee on the daisy. Everything you've painted from that book has been outstanding. Can't wait to see what the flowers book brings.
