Regular Time, Ahhhh

I know it makes me sound old, but I like regular time.  My body doesn't adjust easily to the change.  Take Saturday night, granted I was just plunging into a cold, but I was ready for bed around 10:30 so I changed the clock before I conked off, which meant I went to bed at 9:30 adjusted CST.  I do not go to bed at 9:30, I just don't.  I might doze on the couch, what we like to call a practice nap, but I don't tuck myself under the covers at that too early bedtime. I arose at 7 o'clock which I consider the proper time for hauling myself out of bed which means I slept 9 1/2 hours, off and on.  There was a lot of getting up too hot, too cold, have to potty, night in a strange room too, so it wasn't straight through but nearly.

Sunsets were beautiful out the windows of my room which overlooked the river but there's a papermill across the river from the hotel so that's in the "pretty sunset" pix too.  Not exactly what I had in mind, not particularly scenic, but papermills pay the bills in our area, they have for decades, so they're an unavoidable part of the landscape.

I met a couple knitting friends at Sabamba Alpaca Ranch and B&B yesterday afternoon.  They were having an open house so we went to see and pet the alpacas, we even had our picture taken with one--for free!  It'll get emailed to me in a couple weeks and then I can share it with you.  They had spinners and a little store with garments, socks, gloves and mittens, and a little yarn from their alpaca.  It was all pretty pricey so I didn't buy anything but it was fun to see and nice to be out in the sunny autumn day, even if I was feeling pretty cruddy with this cold I gave myself.  Bah.

I was going to spend last night at the hotel too but I realized after supper that I was feeling shivery cold and not sure I wanted to sleep in a strange bed again so I packed up, called Durwood so he could send the dancing girls away early (he said they were already gone, that their rates go up after dark), and came home to sleep in my own bed.  I think I slept better and I am certain that there'll be another night for me away in pristine silence and solitude.

November 3--Egypt, Kneeling Ruler or Priest.  The limestone floor had to be hard on his knees.  Rita looked at the priest as he prayed.  She stood in the doorway listening to the low murmur of the prayers.  The candle flames flickered in the drafty old church and the smell of incense had permeated the walls so there was always that faint spicy fragrance in the air.

Time to shower and do all that getting ready for work stuff.  You have a good day.  I'm going to try but I feel like crap. At least it's sunny, that always helps my mood.

Darn it!! Having a nasty cold is no way to start the change of seasons and change of time. At least you like the "regular" time. For us, it's the other way around. We are definitely part of the "early to bed" set. I'm always tucked in and ready to turn off the reading light by ten!! We are a couple of old farts!!!
