Much More Fluff

When I opened the shades and drapes today it kind of looked like it was snowing outside. The Cottonwood fluff was really flying. All of the edges of the lawns on the block look like they've been gathering snow or maybe polyester fiberfill. And it got up to 84 today so I had to turn on the air conditioner so I didn't melt. Hopefully the a/c didn't suck up too much fluff. Once the stuff stops flying I'll unreel the hose and spray down the a/c vanes so it doesn't choke when I really need it.

I went over to Zambaldi this morning to visit DS. He was making a batch of Arnie Brau, a light pilsner beer that people who like Miller Lite or Bud Light like. DS was kind of busy so I followed him around the taproom watching him get ready to be behind the bar tonight. They've got "guest bartenders" tonight so he and DIL1 tend bar because the guest bartenders aren't very efficient and all the tips go to the charity of the evening. He's planted hops vines around the outside of the patio and built a wooden frame he can string heavy, rope-like lines on to use the vines for a sun shade. If it works as planned, it'll be amazing. I'll keep you posted. Oh, in the picture he's measuring something, pH maybe?, and marking it on his clipboard. He keeps careful records of each batch to ensure quality.

Today's drawing prompt is Cacti & Succulents. This is my aloe. I'm very impressed with myself because I've managed to keep it alive for over a year. In the past I overwatered the daylights out of one and killed it rather quickly. This one I water on the first of every month, if I remember, and it's doing well. Neglect, that's my gardening and plant care style.

I bought a cute dress this morning when I was picking up a few groceries. (It's a superstore and isn't Walmart.) I'm always getting groceries, aren't I? Anyway, I was smart and didn't take the tags off before trying it on at home since you can't try things on in the store anymore. Because although it fit and looked okay, there were no pockets in the dress. No pockets! I returned it. I need pockets.

Tonight OJ had another soccer game. They got creamed. The other team was more aggressive and hogged the ball. OJ did better, played harder, than he has in the past. The coach seemed to give him more directions, more individual coaching tonight which really made a difference. I'm so proud of how hard he tries.

I only managed to read through one chapter today. I just didn't have the oomph to dig in and focus. Don't know why, maybe because of the bad air quality we've got. The smoke from Canadian wildfires is drifting our way and is pretty thick. Sometimes when I go outside it smells like a campfire. I'm  just glad I don't have asthma or COPD. Those people have to be suffering.

Keep getting better, Aunt B! I miss your comments.
