That was the high temp today. 62 measly degrees. No wonder my hands were cold all day. And OJ had a late (7pm) soccer game tonight so we bundled up and cheered the team on to their first victory this season. Woohoo! I wish I'd followed my instinct and brought a fleece blanket but I survived with minimal complaining.
I've decided that this bird is not a female Oriole. It must be one of this year's first crop of new birds. Its orange is a little more vivid than the female, the black markings on its wings are darker, and it's plumper than the scrawny female who comes every day.
And I snapped a Cardinal picture at the same time I took the Oriole picture. They kind of eyed each other and then went back to their separate feeders. I dumped the watered down grape jelly and refilled the dish, and put out a new orange half. The House Finches are really relishing the orange. Even the Catbird takes a few bites.
Today's drawing prompt was Fruit & Veg. The only veg I drew was a trio of carrots, the rest are fruits. I used markers instead of pencil, fineliner pen, or colored pencils. The author made collage fruits but I don't have any suitable paper to use and I don't subscribe to a magazine I could cut up.
This morning I had a Zoom critique call with cda and got some good comments that I hurried to incorporate in my manuscript. Then I pulled up a new screen and wrote a small scene with my main character and one of the men interested in her. I made a note about it when I was doing the Kindle edit and even was smart enough to put down a page number so it was simple to slot it into place. After I did that I paged through checking to make sure that I didn't have too long chapters. Turns out I did, so I read some and broke them up into more manageable chunks. Thirty pages is too long for a chapter.
