The Cooper's Hawk landed on the birdbath this morning just long enough for me to see it but not long enough for me to get a picture. I snapped a shot but it's flying away and the bird is blurry. I saved the blurry one but went back in my photo archives and pulled out an old Hawk picture just because.
This afternoon I filled the birdfeeders and, as usual, spilled some seed and cracked corn. This squirrel was first on the scene and started cleanup. It didn't finish the job but it started and that's what counts.
I learned yesterday when I opened an email from BookBub that I should have discounted the price of my eBook when I made my ad. I couldn't figure out how to change the price in the first ad so I made another one this afternoon with the eBook priced at $0.99. Maybe that will lure some buyers. Anyway, while I was making that ad I read some of the tips on the site and learned that I could change the price in the ad so I went in and changed it a little. I figured what the heck.
Today's sketching prompt was Geometry. She said to use a pair of compasses (but isn't that just one instrument? mine is. must be a British thing.) to make intersecting circles. I thought about coloring in the little spaces made by the overlapping circles but decided against it.
And I drew a journal page for today. I'm still eating pimento cheese and still liking it. I toast thin slices of Italian bread and spread some on there making open-face sandwiches. It's really good.
Last week when I was out on stick patrol I talked to the neighbor lady while she was picking up sticks too. I motioned to the lot line between our yards and asked if she'd mind if I cut down the trash trees that were growing there. She said she didn't care. Well. I went out to fill the feeders this afternoon and noticed that she'd cut them all down! It looks so nice and clean. I meant to do it but she beat me to it. I suspect she drafted her husband to help with his new little pruning chainsaw.
The rhubarb is growing by leaps and bounds. When I get home next weekend it'll be time to make some rhubarb sauce to put on my breakfast yogurt. Yippee!
And finally, the dandelions are starting to bloom. I also see little blips of white all over the yard which means the white violets aren't far behind. I don't mind the dandelions and I love the violets.
Just a reminder, this is my last blog post until next Saturday night. I leave tomorrow for a week's watercolor workshop at The Clearing. I'll miss you but I'm excited to go. See you next week!
