The Oriole were back again today. He was first, as usual, and I caught him on top of the crook just before he flew away.
She comes later in the day probably after she convinces him that she needs a break from the nest. I caught her on the crook too, and this time she's in pretty good focus.
And I caught the Gray Catbird on the third or fourth bounce. It went from the ground to the birdbath to the crook to the platform feeder all while I was getting the camera ready. I guess that's four. They're fast and skittish.
The Bleeding Hearts are blooming. They're not as thick as they've been in the past but they're just as pretty.
Today I drew Shells. They look like shells, unlike the feathers the other day that looked like leaves. I drew them with a pen and then colored them in with colored pencils. I like the way they turned out. I started a watercolor after supper but had to let it dry between steps so it's not done. I'll finish it tomorrow and then you'll get to see it whether it turns out or not.
I got to do the afternoon school run today so I only was able to listen to four chapters of Spies Don't Retire. That means only nine more to go before I'm done and can let TH know of the few revisions I found. Six so far but the two from today are the same mispronounced word in two places. The word is "cay" but it's pronounced "key." I can't fault her for that one. Who decides stuff like that?
I also got the final files for a poster of The Seaview Series. I hurried right over to the Office Max online and ordered one so I'll have it when I got up to OtherWorlds Books & More for a signing on June 7. Now if my bookmarks only arrive in time I'll be happy. I keep checking the tracking number and it hasn't changed in five days. I'm hoping it's a clerical error and the package is even now winging my way. Fingers crossed.
And the turkey's still in the same place. Makes me want to go back there and poke her to make sure she's still alive. But that's probably not a good idea.

Some of those beer flavors sound very strange. Pickles??? I don't think so.
