Then three times (that I saw) a Bluejay showed up but as soon as I moved to get the camera it flew away. Every darned time. So in honor of that I went back in my archives of photos and selected this one because it looks the most like what I saw today. Darn those Bluejays. They're just too skittish.
This time a male Downy Woodpecker swooped from the crook to the platform feeder, to a Slinky for a little ride, then to the suet cakes. It's hard to see but there is a little red swoop on the back of his head. That's how you know he's a boy.
Today's Sketchbook Challenge prompt was Moon. So I drew the moon a few times. I tried to draw craters with shadows but I'm not sure I managed something recognizable. And the one in the lower left looks like it has hives. But at least I drew.
On the watercolor front I attempted a bouquet of violets in a glass vase. They didn't turn out too badly. I like the flowers and I'd like the vase better if I could manage to make the right side match the left. I try and I try but am rarely successful.
We've been under a severe thunderstorm warning all evening. I think the most severe storms tracked south of here and there were even reports of tornadoes southwest of here. We had a little thunder and lightning and a little rain for a short time but nothing serious. So far anyway. And when I pulled the shade I noticed a sunset so I guess the sky is clearing.
Tomorrow I have to clear out my vehicle because Saturday is the last Market so I have to make room to bring the two tables, my folding chair, book rack, basket of keyrings, and box of books home all in one trip. It should be an adventure. Those tables are HEAVY. But I'll manage.

There are two bluejays flying around in our backyard the past few days. I don't know if they are male and female but I'm telling myself they're courting!
P.S. Almost forgot to mention your vase of violets. I think it's beautiful even if you're not real happy with it. it's really lovely.
