Then there's the male Oriole. He came back again and again to nibble on the grape jelly. She must be on the nest because I didn't see a female but I sure saw the male over and over. I must have snapped ten shots of him. I only kept five.
A Downy Woodpecker female landed on the edge of the birdbath, then went over to the roof of the platform feeder, and finally swooped over to the suet cakes. Happily the other side of the feeder is empty so she had to be visible to me.
White-crowned Sparrows were here in pretty good numbers too. And I managed to nab a photo. They're ground feeders so it's tricky to get something halfway decent.
A baby bunny spent some time nibbling grass. The funny thing was that two squirrels were very interested in the bunny. One squirrel would sneak over closer and the bunny would hop away. Then the other squirrel would take a step toward the bunny and it would hop back. It didn't look like aggression, more like curiosity.
The prompt for today was Something Cold so I drew an iceberg floating past a wooded land. There's a smaller berg behind it with a penguin on it. So it's a southern ocean iceberg. I was especially happy with the way my trees turned out.
I'm so pumped about having to drive up to Sturgeon Bay on Sunday to deliver more copies of Spies Don't Retire that I went downstairs for the rolling backpack and loaded up three of each title and four of SDR. Just so I'm ready when Sunday rolls around.
I'm including another lilacs photo just because I can.
I spent part of the afternoon with LC. She was off school with a bug and was feeling better this afternoon so I went over and we decided that her unicorn Wooble was too difficult for a beginner crocheter. I'd found a much simpler beginner pattern for what the designer calls baby monsters but LC says they look like Tater Tots. So I'm making a blue Tot. LC's is pink. I've gotten out the polyester fiberfill to stuff them with but I need to remember where I put the safety eyes and felt sheets. They're not lost, just in a safe place.
When I got home I went out back and pulled enough rhubarb to make sauce to put on my yogurt in the morning. I'm really looking forward to it. Today was Cheerios and blueberries, tomorrow is yogurt, granola, and rhubarb sauce. Yay!
The only writing work I did today was going over cda's comments on my submission before the last one, sending her my comments from yesterday, and copying and pasting my next submission and sending that to her. I'll try to do better tomorrow. It's supposed to rain but later in the day so maybe I can get in a walk in the morning. I'm really trying to walk every other day. I gotta do it.

Birdland!! Thanks for sharing your backyard Birdland with us. Glad to see that rhubarb. I wondered if it had gotten ready to harvest while you were at The Clearing. I'm thinking of you enjoying in on your breakfast yogurt this morning.
