It's My Birthday!

There was a whole lot more LC told me to put up there but I forgot it. That's the gist of it right there. Today is my 73rd birthday and I had a wonderful day. I got texts, a zillion FB birthday wishes, was invited to DS's house for a yummy supper of chicken teriyaki rice bowls with S'mores for dessert (although it's impossible to put a candle in a s'more and I couldn't blow out the campfire), and had a wonderful long phone chat with DD. Here's a picture of the swag from DS's house. LC bought me this package of markers and drawing pad with her own money, not Mom and Dad's money. I am so touched.

I'm saving the drawing pad for when this sketchbook runs out but I used the markers to color in the drawing of a kiwi bird standing on top of a kiwi fruit and a blueberry muffin. These are such nice markers with a nice variety of colors. Thanks a million, LC!

In the afternoon I followed my proven word generating process and started writing by hand in a notebook with a pencil. I got about three-quarters of a page before I came back here, typed this into a document, and kept going. I managed to write/type over 1500 words which covers a little more than four pages. Whew. That was such a relief since I had so much trouble writing yesterday.

When I filled the feeders the other day I also filled the cob corn holders way back by the fence. Yesterday I spied this chipmunk finishing up eating all of the kernels off the cobs. All. Of. Them. It's a wonder I don't have corn stalks growing up out of my yard all over the place. Where does it keep them? Don't they sprout? I have no idea but it amuses me no end to see the chippie climb the crook and contort around to get every kernel.

I went to the grocery this morning because I was out of grapes and bananas (again) and saw this. I know that pumpkin spice is a popular flavor for those fancy coffee drinks but I never thought I'd see pumpkin spice chips for making cookies. Do people put that flavor in everything?

Well, my birthday day is coming to an end. I won't be awake for much more of it. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy day on FB. I really appreciate seeing all your names and good wishes. Good night.

A day after -- but Happy Birthday again. I hope you got that antique birthday card I mailed last week. I saved it just for you! Sounds like you did have a great day. Well deserved!!
