I hung around all day waiting for the shade to cover the backyard so I could go out to mow without totally dying of the heat. I still got completely and disgustingly sweaty but I finished the job and used the hose to wash out the ton of grass that clung to the underside of the mower deck. So maybe I let the grass get a bit too long but I'll try to do better.
This morning I saw a Goldfinch on the finch feeder and then it twirled a little bit and there were two of them! I hardly ever see them so it was a big treat to catch two of them on the feeder. They're a little blurry but you can still see how cool looking they are.
Here's today's dark pink day lily. That plant is still opening up flowers every day, multiple flowers. I kind of wish it'd do one a day so that they'd last longer.
And Dad's Rose is still blooming too. This one smells so good, like a real rose should.
Today's drawing prompt was Boxes. So that's what I drew. I have to say that I love drawing these 3-D boxes. It makes me feel all arty.
This little rabbit was just visible at the side of the birdseed can. I loved watching it clean itself and rub its paws over its ears and face.
Today's writing work was going over the three prologues that cda sent for critique this week. One stood out over the other two so I'm looking forward to giving her my opinion. Not that she has to accept what I say. The author always has the final word. Then I reread what I sent her for critique. Just because.
Today is my DD's birthday. She's 44 today which means in just about 6 weeks I'll be 74. Man, that sounds like a big number. I called her this morning and we had a lovely chat. I really like her.

74 is a big number but I've got you beat in that department. Happy Birthday to DD.
