I Feel Like I'm Repeating Myself

More lilies have bloomed. The featured lily today is the peach lily that's on the west side of the house all by itself. There's an iris nearby and some spiderwort on the corner but it's the only bright spot on that side of the house right now.

Another red & yellow lily bloomed on the opposite end of the retaining wall today. I don't remember it being there but I'm sure it was. They don't migrate or change colors.

There's only one Stella d'Oro lily plant still making flowers and it's doing it in a big way. There's this one explosion of yellow flowers in one little spot up there on the retaining wall.

I spied a Goldfinch this afternoon and was quick enough to take a picture. It was on the round feeder first but by the time I got the camera ready it had flown up to the crook where I snapped a picture. Gotcha!

The dark pink day lily is still making flowers. I'll keep taking pictures until it quits. Just want to give you fair warning.

And Dad's Rose is doing its best to enliven the front of the house. There's picker weeds that I have to pull out nearby but the roses are abloom and smell great. I wish you could smell them.

Today's drawing prompt was Shells. The biggest cone-shaped shell is a little wonky but I like the way the scallop shell turned out. I like the color on them too. Good old colored pencils to the rescue.

I painted yesterday and forgot to post the picture. I followed KA's directions from a couple years ago and painted these tulips. They're my favorite tulip colors--red and yellow. I like it and it'll make a couple good cards when it comes time to cut things up again. The cheap paper I've been using is starting to frustrate me so I spent some time this afternoon tearing the half-sheets of the good paper into quarter-sheets which I can then tear into smaller pieces more easily.

After supper I drew a gratitude journal page for today. My big gratitude was not having to be outside too much, just driving to and from my haircut and scooting around the yard taking flower pictures.

I had a brilliant idea today about having a hang tag printed with my business card on it so I can put one on the key rings I give away at book fairs. Unfortunately the graphic I had wouldn't work for the online printing company I wanted to use. Maybe I'll see if a local printer can do it for me. There's one not too far from here who made a banner for me last year.

I also had a brainstorm about posting that constellation story on Substack. Instead of writing a story I reworked the "legend" I wrote and will post it another week. It's a whole lot more fun than the story anyway.

I'm on a sugar-free gelatin jag. This is the second 2-box bowl of citrus flavored gelatin I've made and I have a little bowl when I come back here to blog. It's fruity and refreshing. My favorite flavors are lime, lemon, and orange. Not so much the sweeter fruity flavors. It's a harmless indulgence.

And I got a text from my tenant tonight that the cold water faucet to their washer is leaking. Not the hose which I could fix with a new washer, but the faucet itself. So tomorrow I call J the plumber and hope he hasn't retired. It's always something.
