A Little Bit of Wildlife

You know I'm a big fan of melted squirrels, right? Well, today I saw a relaxed rabbit. When I got home from lunch with the St. Agnes Class of '65 I glanced out the patio door and this is what I saw. Just as relaxed as you please, this rabbit was sitting with its belly pressed to the concrete patio cooling off.

There was a squirrel trying to get the last few morsels of suet nuggets out of the feeder. I'm sure it had to scare off a passel of Sparrows. The birds mob the feeder all the time, squabbling and shoving each other to get the best spot.

And a Downy Woodpecker visited the feeder yesterday. It looked a little dirty and disheveled like it had been rained on and then rolled in the dirt. I forgot to post it yesterday so you get it today.

Today's drawing prompt was Pens & Pencils. So I pulled a few out of my drawing pencil case and got busy. I liked drawing them with a fine liner pen. Drawings like this really please me. I don't know why.

I got to pick LC up from camp this afternoon and took my crochet things along so we could work on finishing her first amigurumi monster. Unfortunately Meemaw forgot her iPad so we didn't have the pattern but all she had left to do was very simple and I remembered how to tell her what to do. She finished the body, then made the bottom, added the eyes, stuffed it, and sewed the bottom on. Its name is Alfred. She says he looks like a pink tater tot. I'm very proud of the job she did on her first finished project. We have more yarn (of course we do!) and safety eyes, some felt to use for the eyes, and a nice bag of polyester fiberfill to stuff them with. We are ready to make more in lots of colors.

Here's another picture of the dark pink day lily. I can't resist taking its picture. They bloom for such a short time, it's worth doing every day.

I reposted the blurb for Christmas at Seaview last night and got a couple more comments. I'm hard pressed to figure out how to make the blurb the way the comments suggest because doing what they say will give away most if not all of the story. I want to keep some things to be revealed in the story or why buy the book.

At lunch today a couple came who live in California and I haven't seen them since we graduated from high school in 1969. It was great to visit with them and she bought one of my books. Hooray!

Tonight was OJ's soccer game and he scored a goal! He did a little restrained happy dance and then moved on. Every game he gets better, more focused. I so enjoy watching him and his teammates play.
