There were no noteworthy animal antics that I saw today. No birds, other than a few Sparrows squabbling over the suet cakes. I had to chase the squirrel away from the grape jelly once. Oh, I did see a mouse up on the retaining wall and watched in amazement when it went into a space between the blocks that I swear wouldn't be big enough for a pencil.
There are a couple new rosebuds on Dad's rose. Here's one with a trio of buds around it. Looks like another little bouquet in the making.
Under Dad's rose the purple chrysanthemum is starting to bloom. Too early. Again. Maybe I'll trim it back so it blooms at the right time of year or maybe I'll just let nature take its course.
Today's drawing prompt was Everyday Things so I drew a couple pairs of scissors. I don't know why they're pretty easy for me to draw but they are. Not great art but it passed the time.
I spent a lot of the afternoon wrestling with the computer. I had a Zoom with KM to figure out how to join book promos on a website to build up my newsletter signups. We got that figured out and I signed up for three promos. Then it occurred to me to find out whether I can do that if my eBooks are in Kindle Unlimited. And the answer is no. So I went on Kindle Direct Publishing and took them off auto-renew but that won't stop until mid-September. That means I had to bow out of the August promo. Then I discovered that I have to have an online "store" to sell through so I chose the one that was supposed to be easiest to set up and got busy. I've loaded the book but am obviously missing a step because I can't do a test sale. I emailed KM and hope she'll get back to me tomorrow so we can schedule a Zoom and get it figured out. Not that we've got to hurry since I can't sell anything until September 25th. Grr. I'm such a trial to myself.
OJ's last regular season soccer game was tonight and they got creamed. It wasn't even close. There are three tournament games this weekend that I don't think I'll go to.
I got the next-to-final cover file for Christmas at Seaview yesterday and asked for a small adjustment so the blurb and author bio show up well on the back cover. I can't wait to get it all done and get it published. I'm so excited about it.
