Rainy

I'm pondering an existential question about myself. Why did I wait until it was pouring rain to go to the grocery for bananas? I drove past the road to the grocery when I was coming home from visiting my brother and his wife but didn't remember to stop. It wasn't until it was pouring rain an hour and a half later that I remembered the bananas so I put on my coat and took off. It wasn't exactly pouring when I had to walk from the car to the store but it was windy and spitting rain in my face. Not pleasant.

It was barely drizzling when I took this birdbath picture. I tried to take a Cardinal picture later in the rain but he didn't stay long enough. I don't blame him.

Since I spent a few hours driving to Brussels and visiting and driving home in the middle of the day I didn't spend as much time doing stuff as I usually do. I did try my hand at a watercolor of Bush Vetch. Twice. The first attempt wasn't very good so I tried again. This is a little better so you get to see it.

I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening writing, trying to force myself to remember the idea I had the other night and didn't write down. Can you tell it's still bugging me? I wrote a couple pages of a scene with those two characters but I'm absolutely certain that it isn't as interesting as whatever that other idea would have been.

I drove 35 miles up the peninsula this morning to visit TW and his wife ARA. They have four huge Golden Retrievers that they mercifully kept penned up while I was there. I'm not a dog lover. In fact, I'm pretty much afraid of dogs (except for Porter) so I was grateful. TW gave me a tour of their new house and then we visited and after that went to lunch at a little country diner near their house. It was a nice visit and I was glad to see that TW is doing okay.

Glad to read that your brother is doing OK. And glad that you got to see their new house sans the dogs! That is quite a tribe they have. Too bad it was a rainy day.
