Back In My Own Nest

It's nice to be away but it's pretty nice to come home too. I got my grocery shopping done and got home and unpacked before it started to snow. I'm not going to complain a whole lot about it because it was supposed to be freezing rain instead of just snow. Snow is better.

This is the last figure in Half Hour of Pencil Power. It's a floating house with a lot of balloons lifting it into the sky. I like the little person peeking out the window and I'm pretty happy with the whole thing. There's a little bird on a perch too. My bird looks less like a chicken than his bird. I like mine better.

Right after I got home the Downy Woodpecker showed up. All of the other feeders are pretty much empty so she's got the whole thing to herself.

Here's the body of the unicorn that I made alongside LC making hers. There are a lot more parts that need crocheting and sewing on but this is as far as we've gotten. I had crocheted the last round and made a pretty small hole that I thought I'd stuff it through but I ended up taking out that last round and giving myself more room.

I got a delivery this afternoon just as it started to snow. The books I ordered to restock my supply arrived. Next I need to sign them and put a bookmark in them. I'll do that tomorrow since I plan to avoid shoveling snow at all costs. I just checked the weather for the coming week and it's supposed to be 40 tomorrow and up to 50 by Thursday. Yeah, I'm not shoveling.

One of my sisters-in-law called today to tell me that I need to initial the little watercolor pieces that I glue onto greeting cards so that when I'm famous the cards will be worth something. Ha! I'm never going to be famous for my painting or my writing but I'm having fun doing both so I'll keep doing them. I promised her that I'd initial the painting pieces from now on. She was also impressed that I'd done the embossing myself.

DD called tonight too and we had a lovely chat. Her little guy, IMM, played in his first flag football game yesterday. I wish I was close enough to go to the games.

Your talents know no bounds -- writing, drawing, painting, crocheting, knitting, photography and even embossing. Love the picture of the snowflakes. And the fact that they aren't staying around very long. I can't believe IMM is old enough for flag football!
