First It Rained

And now it's snowing and blowing. Ugh. Snow on top of rain isn't a good thing. At least it's supposed to be above freezing tomorrow so the roads shouldn't be an ice rink. I opened the patio door to take a picture of the snow and heard this odd clinking sound. It was the wind chimes caked with snow sounding like bamboo chimes. It made me laugh.

 I spent most of the day getting Spies Don't Retire ready to be printed. I set up the front matter--title page, dedication, copyright, table of contents--and the back matter--books in this series, books by this author, acknowledgements, link to my Facebook page and website. Then I started rereading it on Kindle Create to make sure it's the way I want it to be. I'm halfway through. I should finish tomorrow and save it so I can stop worrying.

 

Today's drawing prompt was called Don't Look! It said to find a simple object and draw it without looking at the paper. Man, I am so bad at that but I tried. First I tried to draw a simple bowl, then I moved on to the jar I keep my paintbrushes in, and after that I tried a couple birdfeeders. The one birdfeeder isn't bad but I need to practice doing that a lot to maybe get better.

 

Once I was done with the manuscript for the day (my eyes got too tired) I drew the next picture in Half Hour of Pencil Power. It's called Jazz on Jupiter and it turned out okay. I should have started farther to the left of the page but other than that I think I like it. I think there are two more pictures to draw before finishing that book. Maybe three.

 

I got brave when I took a break after lunch and painted a bouquet. It's not the best bouquet but it isn't too bad. I like the flowers, the leaves not so much.

 

Man, I hope the snow melts tomorrow or at least the roads clear up. I don't like driving on icy roads. I almost typed "I don't like driving on icy toads." Yeah, that too. Toads are slick to drive on, I imagine.

I knitted a few more rounds on the Sweet Feet Sock. Not enough to take another picture but it made a difference. I've finished watching the first season of White Collar on Netflix and I'm kind of addicted. It's such a nice easy thing to watch when there's nothing else I like on.
