One Big Bird

Imagine my surprise when I glanced over my shoulder out the patio door and saw this. It's a hen turkey standing on the step just outside the door. Evidently there wasn't enough fallen seed left to entice it to graze under the feeders so it thought it'd come to the source. It didn't stay long but it sure is big.

In the not-nearly-as-big category, a male Cardinal stopped at the platform feeder this morning. It tolerated a House Finch for a minute but the Finch didn't stay long.

It was windy again today. Very windy. I caught sight of this squirrel nibbling on the suet nuggets and you can see its tail blowing off to the side.

This morning I drew my jar of paintbrushes again. For some reason it felt right to draw them one more time. This time I felt like I did a better job of it.

And I talked to KW at The Clearing to put my bid in for a particular room in May and she commented that I needed to finish yesterday's watercolor. She said she could see it wasn't finished and I should be brave and give it a try. So I did. I'm not sure I improved it. I may have unimproved it. But now I've painted all the steps in the instructions so I can move on. Oh, and it's supposed to have that white dot in the background. The instructor says it's the moon. Okay, whatever you say, lady.

In writing news, I spent some time paging through the Night Sky Field Guides I found the other day, then I wrote a couple fake folklore paragraphs for my manuscript. It worked out to about a page and that was the perfect amount of random information to put on page 94.

I didn't get the Final Jeopardy! today. Rome came to mind but I didn't remember its nickname as The Eternal City. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

I went to the dentist again this afternoon to consult about the sleep apnea dental appliance that I can't seem to wear without pain in my right jaw muscle. He poked around on my jaw and in my mouth and decided that maybe a muscle relaxant will let my muscle adjust. This is the last ditch effort. He's never had anyone with this problem, particularly just on one side, so he's at a bit of a loss. I'll try the pills and appliance for a few days or maybe a week, but if I still have pain I'm giving up. I can't have anything normal.

That hen turkey had to be your headline today. It is definitely a big bird! Love both your paintings today. The spooky one and the jar of paintbrushes. Good job!
