Not One Page

I had a critique Zoom this afternoon with cda and after we signed off I went through the pages I submitted and made most of the suggestions she gave. Not all of them, but most. Then I made a new document with the next 20 pages to be critiqued for next week. I'll send them to her tomorrow. But I wasn't inspired to write anything new. Maybe tomorrow.

I was surprised to see a Downy Woodpecker female on the suet cakes this afternoon and even managed to take a decent picture of her before she flew away.

The page I flipped to in Sketchbook Challenge was Kings and Queens. I was stuck for what to draw but then I read the notes in the book and she sketched playing cards. Great idea! So I got out a deck of tarot cards and sorted through them to find the four kings and four queens and picked one of each to draw. The reason I chose the ones I did was because parts of their bodies are fish. The queen has a mermaid tail and the king is being swallowed feet first by a fish. At first I wasn't going to color them but the more I looked at them the duller they looked so I got busy coloring. They turned out okay.

Once again I'm unimpressed with the outcome of my watercolor efforts. This one I won't try again because I think the next section of the book is florals and I might have better luck with them.

This morning I drew a gratitude journal page for yesterday. My favorite things were OJ's birthday and chocolate cake. My grandchildren are always my favorites and, well, chocolate cake. I mean, come on, who doesn't love chocolate cake?

Yesterday a Red-bellied Woodpecker was on the suet nuggets once and the platform feeder another time. I looked up just in time to see it and then it flew away. *sigh*

Oh, and I forgot to say that we saw a Bald Eagle when we were at the dam on the Wolf River yesterday. They're so big and cool looking.

I did a little research and made a couple phone calls about having a booth at a craft fair in November. I don't think it'll be the gold mine we'd hoped so will probably take a pass on that one. I contacted a store that carries my books because I'll be going by there in a couple weeks and want to drop off copies of my new title, and he wants to talk about arranging a time for a book signing event there. That might be interesting.

Clever of you to pull out those Tarot cards for your king and queen inspiration. But then, you are a clever girl!
