Then this squirrel sniffed out the newly filled suet nuggets feeder. I love watching them leap up onto the birdbath, then to a low crook, and on to the high one where the nuggets feeder is. He clung on so tight and you can see it was less windy today because his tail isn't flapping in the breeze.
Today's drawing is Fruit & Veg. It's a parsnip, an onion, and cherries. I copied the parsnip and onion from the page in the book. I made up the cherries. I especially like the parsnip, well, and the onion because of the shape of them, how well I drew them, and the coloring using my Prismacolor colored pencils. They have a soft core and are a pleasure to color with.
The watercolor today is simple flowers. I didn't make the flower petals as wide as the example but I like the way the painting turned out. I'll make another stab at it, maybe tomorrow.
While the paint was drying in between steps I came back here to write. I am thrilled to say that I managed to write three new scenes (10 pages!) and find places to slot them into the manuscript. With those additions I reached 80k words which is always my benchmark for being close to finished with a story. Maybe I'll have the manuscript to a point in a couple weeks where I can email it to my Kindle and read through making notes about what needs changing and what needs adding and where.
I have spent this whole week a day ahead. I thought Tuesday was Wednesday and yesterday was Thursday. I thought today was Friday and I was all geared up for my 2 o'clock Zoom with writing friends and it wasn't until after lunch I realized that today's Thursday. I don't know why my inner calendar's been so off. Hopefully I've got myself straightened out so I don't miss going to the Market on Saturday.

Today is Friday! But I know what you mean about somehow losing a day every once in a while. That happens when we're retired, I guess. But I'm not complaining.
