Happy Easter!

Today was Easter for everyone, of course, but it was also OJ's ninth birthday. I was invited to JZ & HZ's for lunch and gifting. He was thrilled with all of his gifts. I gifted him a Lego Super Mario Kart set which he assembled with little difficulty after lunch. Lunch was superb. We had ham, scalloped potatoes, spinach salad, roasted broccoli, and a chocolate mousse cake made by LC. She's turning into quite the baker.

On our way out of town we swung by the dam on the Wolf River to see if there were any Sturgeon swimming upstream. We saw a few fins and one fish near the rocks right in front of us. There's a Sturgeon Cam on the Wolf River in a couple locations but I just checked and neither one is running right now. Well, it is dark so probably not the optimum time for watching fish.

This morning I drew a gratitude journal page for yesterday. It took me a few minutes to figure out what to draw but I like the book and the dried apple rings.

And the prompt I chose today was Float & Sink which I took literally. First I drew a float ring and then I drew a bathroom pedestal sink. I wracked my brain to come up with something that floated and chose a life ring then it was evident I had to draw a sink. It takes so little to amuse me.

That was it for my day. It's not a long drive to Shawano, only about 35 minutes, which was sunny on the way out and light rainy on the way home. At least it wasn't dark. I stopped at the grocery on my way into town to pick up everything I could think I might need next week. The NFL Draft will take over the city from Wednesday through Saturday next week so my plan is to hunker down and avoid the madness. Streets have been closed around the stadium for a couple weeks and more closed today. They're even closing the schools those three days. Estimates say that the population of Green Bay will double those days. I don't know where all those people will stay and eat but I'm staying home.

Belated Happy Birthday to OJ. Today is our youngest grandchild's birthday -- Leo -- 18!! Your celebration of Easter and OJ all at the same time sounds lovely.
