It was so warm and rainy overnight that the birdbath is all thawed. I looked out this morning to see waves in the waters of the birdbath.
And as you can see in this picture, most of the snow has melted away.
We had blue sky and sunshine for part of the day. It looked like spring and I had to keep reminding myself that it's the middle of January in Wisconsin. It isn't spring, not by a long shot.
These two squirrels each had a feeder this afternoon. The one on the suet nuggets didn't look pleased to find the other one in the square green feeder, and it looked like the one in the square green feeder was defending its turf. Shortly after I took this picture, the one on the nuggets dropped to the ground and scampered away.
I got the "right" paintbrush today for painting the poppy in my new book so I give it a third try. It's a little better and was a little easier to follow her directions but I suspect that it's having painted it three times rather than having a new brush that made the difference.
At Friday Night Knitting I nearly finished the Licorice Hat but had knitted one round too many on the body of the hat and wouldn't have had enough yarn to finish. So I pulled out the needles and pulled back the decrease rounds I'd knitted and the last hat body round. It was a challenge to pick the stitches back up. I had to use much smaller needles to capture the loose stitches, then back up one stitch at a time to get them back on their original needles. I'll plunge back in to finish it, hoping I'll have enough.
Then I just knitted a couple rows on the Car Knitting washcloth #19. I've got a kitchen towel knitted with the same yarn so eventually I'll have a cloth to match.
After two days of uploading audiobooks and not writing, I jumped back in and wrote 410 words today. Not very many but it was good to be back at it.
I almost skipped yoga this morning because I didn't wake up until 8:45am so it was after 10am when I thought about yoga. Knowing that even doing in for the last 10 days has made a difference in how I feel, I couldn't in all good conscience skip it. So it was almost 11am when I got dressed which made the day feel short and rushed but I'm glad I bent and stretched and breathed for those 15 minutes this morning.

Two pictures today did almost look like springtime in January. Just a little preview of days to come.
