More!

Due to shipping delays (and a lapse in my concentration), I got my last Christmas gifts tonight. On Christmas day I forgot to put two gift bags in my basket to bring home so I knew what those things were. But the gifts from DS and family just arrived. They're a watercolor flowers how-to book for beginners and a tool to try cutting stamps out of pink erasers. Just what I need, another crafty thing to do, right? Santa brought me the two rolling plastic bugs. Cool, huh? LC gave me the crocheted cyclops tater tot with the tail. She's really getting into crocheting and doing a great job.

I'm fixated on painting the flowers in the Domestika Daily Painting Challenge. Today's flower was Tulip. I wasn't thrilled with my first attempt (on the right), so I tried again (on the left). I like the left one better. I like the color green of the leaves and the arrangement of the flowers. I wish I was as graceful with my brush strokes as the teacher is and wish I could slow down the video so I could copy her motion better. But I'm having fun!

A squirrel leaped up on the suet nuggets this morning when I was doing yoga so I stopped for 30 seconds to take its picture. It moved around on the feeder, going from side to side and bending its body around to get the best angle to nibble away.

Today's drawing is a Laptop & Binoculars. I was gratified that the way she demonstrated drawing the laptop is essentially the way I've always drawn one.

The word count of the day is 644. Today I had Rose getting better from the flu and being impressed that Iggy and the housekeeper Geneva were managing pretty well without her.

Today LC turned 12. I can't believe she's that old. She's quite the young lady, beautiful, energetic, and very active in extracurricular activities in school. The years have sure flown since the subzero day she was born. It wasn't that cold today.

Nice to have Christmas last more than one day.
