I lay in bed and couldn't figure out the odd light seeping in around the shades. Then I opened the shades and it was foggy out there. Not dense fog but enough to make driving interesting. I'm glad I don't have to get up and go anywhere very often. I wonder what makes fog.
Look at what I found! It's five tulip buds in the front of the house. Five. I have high hopes that they'll survive to bloom. Fingers crossed.
Today's Daily Practice is supposed to be a wild garden. I tried to emulate her strokes and colors but I don't have the variety of greens she has and don't know how she manages to paint over things without having them bleed together. The next Daily Practice is abstract art using "leftover" gouache paint. I don't have any leftover gouache, I cleaned my palette when I was finished painting the daisies the other day and I don't really understand abstract art. I'm skipping that one.
I found this recipe for Egg Roll in a Bowl on the WW website the other day and printed it off. Then when I was at the grocery yesterday I bought the ingredients to make it. I only needed ground pork, scallions, and a bag of coleslaw mix. I had all the rest. The recipe says to scoop a serving of the hot meat and sauce into a bowl and then pile on 1 1/2 cups of the coleslaw mix. That's too much. What you see in the picture is one cup of slaw mix. It was just right. Oh, and the store only had 1 1/2 lb. packages of ground pork so I made a batch and a half because I didn't know what I'd do with a frozen half-pound of pork. While I was browning the pork in the skillet there must have been something greasy in the drip pan because it caught on fire. I can't imagine what it was because I barely cook but there it was burning merrily away. I thought it went out soon enough but still the smoke alarm went off. At least I know it works.
This morning I called ACX to find out how to send Promo Codes to people who've agreed to listen to my audiobooks and leave reviews in exchange for a freebie. I was connected to the nicest Customer Service rep who talked me through step by step and even sent me an email with the steps so I could print it out. There's also something called Bounty URLs that are for sending to people who aren't on Audible. They can sign up for a free trial month and if they stay on Audible I make a little money. I'm wracking my brain trying to think of who I can send those to.
In the afternoon I sat here and wrote the May 1 writing progress email that I send out to my email list every month. I have no idea how many of the 28 people signed up actually read my emails but I keep sending them nevertheless. I'm stubborn like that.

Love your wild garden. I hope you kept that one pinned up somewhere in your house. That egg roll in a bowl sounds good. Something different for a change.
