For the Girls Day Out Holiday Extravaganza I made a gift certificate for the complete Seaview Series books. I tied them up with raffia and looped a hang tag and tropical key ring on top. Everyone scrunches up their nose when I tell them I'm giving away three books but I thought I'd go big and make a splash. Maybe it'll motivate the winner to share the books with her friends after she's read them. That's my hope anyway.
Today's drawing prompt, number 99 out of 100 in the book, was Home. I didn't want to go out in the cold to draw my (boring) house so I scrolled back in the gallery on my phone to find the picture of the facade of my room at The Clearing in May. I used a 005mm fine liner and a real sketchy hand and just did it.
I started writing this afternoon while the cleaner was here and finished this evening. I wrote 1,715 words today. I'm not sure there's much action in the words I wrote today but I have big plans for tomorrow, if I can carry them out.
The "check tire pressure" light came on in my car last night so I went up to Rabideau's on the corner where I bought my car and get my oil changed this morning. They made time to pull my car into the shop to check and inflate the tires. I'll keep an eye on the tires, especially the right rear, to see if I have a slow leak. I knew he wouldn't charge me for the service so I gave the owner, JR, a copy of Christmas at Seaview because he told me I have to get writing because he's out of "Barbara books." I told him I'm working to write the next book right now. Thanks, JR! You made me feel good.
It's been so cold and windy the last few days, barely above freezing during the day and below freezing at night. But it's supposed to hit 50 tomorrow and 60 on Saturday. Then drop again. Crazy.
