Well, That Was Unexpected

DS called me this morning asking what my day looked like. I told him I had a 1 o'clock Zoom and a 6 o'clock Zoom. When he sounded disappointed, I asked why. He told me that the glycol chiller was out and he needed a part. A company in Marshfield had one but he was in the middle of brewing and couldn't go get it. They could mail it to him but it'd take until Monday and shipping would cost a LOT. I said I could miss my afternoon Zoom and go get it for him. He sent me the address, I gathered my things, and took off. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get there and the same to get back. I saw a lot of central Wisconsin and listened to an audiobook. I treated myself to a Kwik Trip chicken salad sandwich for lunch with M&Ms for dessert. He was relieved to see me when I handed it over and he texted me around suppertime that they were back up and running so it was worth the drive.

When I got home I pulled out the sketching book and the prompt today was Cacti & Succulents. So I drew the aloe plant that lives on the table. I didn't draw all of the leaves but drew enough that you get the idea.

Then I decided to repaint yesterday's picture to see if I couldn't do a better job. I'm not sure I improved but it was fun to paint.

At Friday Night Knitting I finished the Doublethick Cloth. I made it square instead of 8" long which feels too long to me.

That was my day. Mostly all I did was drive. First west, then north, then north again, then east. Evidently it was too much to ask that the GPS send me home the way I came. No, it had to send me on county back roads from Marshfield to Wausau which is 43.5 miles. I'd have been home sooner if it had sent me back on the interstate, but no, I had to take the scenic route.

Meemaw to the rescue!! You were noble to spring into action when DS called. That's what mothers do. Once again -‐ Wonder Woman. That was a lot of driving.
