North of the Equator

Barbara, has your writing become unstuck? Even a little? The sun is out this afternoon, and the snow is melting. Green Bay hosted its Winterfest celebration yesterday. Up and down Broadway, from a block south of Walnut Street to Douseman, you see ice sculptures on the sidewalk. Three or four out of the twenty-odd pieces on display are quite good. One shows King Kong standing on top of the Empire State Building. It is almost six feet high, and done with good humor (which is something that is in short supply lately.) The person who made it gouged (or melted) many tiny windows from the ice, so that the sunlight catches them and makes patterns of shadows on the opposite wall. And so, there you have it. This cold is supposed to let up for a few days. Which would be nice.

Bob;-)
