Let's See

What did I do today? Well, before I even got out of my pajamas I made a cauldron of potato soup. I used the Yukon Gold potatoes I got yesterday at the Market on Military and they're so pretty. It's the first time I've made them. They cooked up quickly and I didn't even peel them. I looked up online about the whole peeling thing and more than one site said if you're using Yukon Gold potatoes you don't have to peel them because their skin is so thin. Yay! I tried a tiny bowl of it and it needs salt but you garnish each serving with crispy bacon crumbles so I'm reserving judgement. Also it will benefit from an overnight for the flavors to meld.

Today's drawing lesson in The Art of Sketching, which is the real name of the course, was all about drawing heads and making a character of yourself. All of the bald ones with the curlicue of hair are him and the ones with hair in jagged bangs are me. He didn't say to make up a character of me but I got tired of drawing him and decided to see if I couldn't make me. I like it.

Most of the birds gathered under the feeders today were Mourning Doves. They were busy picking through the fallen cracked corn and seeds that the Sparrows threw down over the last few days. There were a lot more Doves there but I cut the picture down so that you could see these since if the picture is too big the birds blend into the grass and it looks like an empty picture.

After drawing I knitted on the last Christmas knit for a while. I'm nearing the end but get tired of all of the thinking this pattern requires. I'll finish it later this week. Cross my heart.

I dug out the Christmas hats and headbands to pack one for the next Market. I found a real pretty headband that Mom had and wore it for an hour to see if I could stand it for four hours and the answer is no. Instead I packed a felt Christmas tree hat and my lighted Christmas bulb necklace. I made sure that it lit up before I packed it.

First thing this morning I took the sweater I wore yesterday and the one I wore 2 weeks ago downstairs and "washed" them in the dryer in a bag with a Dryel home dry cleaning sheet. It did a pretty good job of taking out most of the fry grease smell so I ordered some more sheets on Amazon so I can use one after every market. I ordered some special drawing paper that the teacher of the next art class I plan to take recommended. I love that I can get just what I want on Amazon and not have to spend a fortune.

This afternoon I drew the October and November Bullet Journal year end pages. Now I have to wait until next month to do December because who knows, something amazing might happen.

What else? Oh yeah, I folded a basket of laundry and put it away. I was desperate because I was about to run out of clean socks and underwear. I don't like to rush into folding the clean laundry. I let it sit around in the basket until I need it.
