Those are the only two colors of watercolor paint I used today. I couldn't think of anything else to call this post so that's what you get. The flower of the day is Goldenrod, aka Astilbe, and it was pretty easy to paint. She gave us a pdf of a handful of Goldenrod but we only painted one stem. That was so much easier than trying to interweave leaves and stems and flowers.
Twice this morning I didn't notice a Red-bellied Woodpecker until just before it flew away. The first time it left because these two Sparrows showed up and edged it off a perch. There were two more perches but they had to have the one it was on. Bullies.
But I did manage to catch this shot of a male Downy Woodpecker on the suet cakes. It was at the edge of visibility and kept leaning out of view to peck at the suet but I got this one picture of it with its head attached.
I went down to Zambaldi this morning to visit DS and catch up on all his news. He was brewing a smaller batch of Maple Brown Ale because the distributor wants more kegs of it. Gotta supply the demand.
This afternoon I had a meeting with KM, my online assistant, and we talked about posting on social media to garner a bigger following. She knows stuff that I would never in a million years figure out. We're going to meet again next Tuesday morning to talk about keywords to make sure that I'm hitting all the right notes. Before our Zoom I edited Horizon's blurb making it fit the Ad School format better, adding a better hook and making it easier to read. After the Zoom I went through the Kindle and paperback listings of all of my titles on Amazon writing down the categories and keywords so I can type them up to be ready for next week's meeting. This writing thing is so much more than just authoring books. Makes me tired just thinking about it.
And after supper I knitted on the cuff of Alpaca Mitten #4. I have only seven more rounds of ribbing to knit before changing needle sizes and getting to work on the hand and thumb gusset. I'm amazed that I'm not tired of knitting mittens yet, in fact, I'm enjoying it. Maybe because they're fairly quick to knit and are a little challenging but not too challenging.
It snowed a little bit this morning. Not enough to mean anything but it did make interesting patterns on the street. I think the breeze blew the flakes around making swirling patterns. They say it's going to snow on Sunday, more than just a dusting but not a whole lot. On Saturday I'll be going over to DS's house to have Christmas with them. We've all been busy, they were sick with a mean virus, or everyone was out of town and Saturday is the day we're all healthy and free. I think I still remember what's in the wrapped packages in the guest room. I'm looking forward to it.

Nice to have Christmas in January. Makes it more special somehow when it's just you and the kid. Have fun.
