And the young Bluejays were back. They didn't stay long either but long enough for me to take this picture.
I didn't go out and trim back the purple mums. I'm just going to let them bloom and see if they keep blooming into the fall. All of Dad's roses are faded so those little spots of purple are the only color out there right now. Except for one weed with a yellow flower that I need to go yank out tomorrow.
Today's drawing prompt was Mushrooms & Fungi. I just used a fine liner pen and drew a few little mushrooms, copying the ones on the page.
In the afternoon I finished reading another prompt notebook and this time I got out the Alphasmart and transcribed eight of the things I'd marked and transferred them to Word. I'll do that a few more times to amass a folder of possibilities. If I wait until I find the perfect story start I'll never get off the ground so I'm just going to jump in and swim.
I ran out of rhubarb sauce last week and didn't go out to pick and make more until late today. It's so easy to make this stuff and it's so good on my morning yogurt. And it's zero points because I use monkfruit sweetener instead of sugar. It doesn't have that metallic taste that some artificial sweeteners have.
And while I was rereading Christmas at Seaview--again!--I couldn't resist stopping to bake a batch of Orange Blossom Muffins. Rose makes them at the bed-and-breakfast and they sounded so good I bought a little box of Bisquick, some orange juice, and a jar of orange marmalade last week. They smell great! There's nutmeg in the sugar and cinnamon that's sprinkled on top so there's that too. I baked them so late that they aren't cool enough to eat or I'd give a report. I'll have one for breakfast and let you know.
I even made time after supper to draw a gratitude journal page.
I am so very sorry that I pulled that muscle in the back of my right knee on Wednesday. It's a little better but it still hurts when I stand up or go down stairs or bend over to get something off the floor. Tylenol and Aleve help some but it isn't the same as not having done it. I wonder how long before it gets better enough that I stop noticing it all the time.

Those orange blossom muffins sound and look so good! It had to take will power not to eat one even if it was too hot. I know you're enjoying one with your rhubarb yogurt this morning.
