Mm, Green Beans

My knitting friend, CS, brought me a bag of homegrown green beans today and I cut some up for supper tonight. They were so delicious, green and snappy and good. She included a yellow zucchini squash. I'll save that for later.

She gave me five of her just starting to ripen cherry tomatoes too. They have a fancy name I can't remember but I ate three before I thought about taking a picture so I was happy to find these two hiding in the beans.

This morning I was lucky enough to snap a photo of this male Goldfinch on the crook. I kept waiting for him to fly over to the finch feeder but he didn't. I guess there were too many Sparrows on it for his taste.

Today's drawing prompt was Buildings. I just love the pen drawings of buildings on the page so I copied a few of them.

Then I decided I really needed to paint something so I paged through a watercolor flowers book and found one of sunflowers with bees.  Here's my interpretation of that page. Two of the three bees turned out the way I wanted them to. I'm happy with that.

The Queen Anne's Lace is blooming nicely. I love the way they sway in the breeze. I tried taking a picture of one that had finished blooming and was curled into a fist but it was too windy and it was blurry. Dang. It's also called Wild Carrot. I didn't know that.

After supper I drew a gratitude journal page. I barely went outside today so I wasn't grateful for the heat and humidity. Instead I'm grateful for transcribing stories and eating green beans.

I had an email from Kindle Direct Publishing this morning that Christmas at Seaview's cover was acceptable and it was published. Hooray! I immediately ordered one retail so it will come on Sunday and I'll have the first copy for my pile of firsts. Then I ordered 30 author copies to have on hand to sell at the fairs coming up in October, November, and December. Also to sell to my writer friends when I'm at The Clearing the end of September. And at my book signing at OtherWorlds Books & More on my way to The Clearing on Sept. 27th. One of my writer friends asked if I was going to get Christmas keyrings to give away and I thought not but then I went on Amazon, saw some cute ones for not too much money, and ordered them. They'll come tomorrow. I'm so spoiled by Prime. It's too easy to order something for instant gratification.

I spent a few hours transcribing 16 more story starts to the Alphasmart and then to Word. Now I have three prompt notebooks' worth of story starts to play with. That should be enough to get me started writing short stories again, don't you think?
