I Got It!

LC and I have been trying to learn how to start our crochet in the round with a technique called Magic Ring or Magic Circle which lets your piece have little or no hole in the center of the round. We watched a YouTube video a few times and tried to follow it but got frustrated and went back to the old, slip knot start I learned ages ago. Today I found a different YouTube video, followed it a couple times, and I got it! Now I have to help left-handed LC learn the technique. That works the best if we sit across from each other rather than side by side.

Since I started a tater tot monster this afternoon I kept going and finished the parts tonight. Then I added eyes but didn't remember to bring up the fiberfill when I went down for the eyes. I'll get that tomorrow and put it together. I have an idea for hair I want to try too.

Here's the bird of the day. It's a Cardinal and didn't really cooperate in posing. I hoped it would turn around to face the camera so I could take another picture but it flew away instead. Oh well.

Today's drawing prompt is Water. I drew glass cups and glasses and put colored pencil water in them. I also made colored pencil waves across the top of the page. I thought about using watercolor pencils but knew that wetting the paper would be a disaster so I didn't.

In gruesome news, when I opened the patio drapes this morning there was a tuft of fur on the patio with a lot of flies around it. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a rabbit's head, ears and all! Gross. I got rid of it. There are no pictures.

And I got Christmas at Seaview's cover design back from GetCovers. The title and my name are very skinny on the spine but they're there. I couldn't resist so I uploaded the cover and the manuscript and published the paperback and eBook. I figured, why wait? I wasn't going to change anything and that means I'll be able to get author copies that much sooner. The eBook is available now and the paperback should become available in the next day or so.

I got arnica gel at the grocery today and put it on a couple times. My knee feels a little better. I don't know if it's the gel or the passage of time but I don't care. All I want is for it to stop hurting and to be able to get up more easily from a seated position. Stupid pulled muscle.

Thank you for sparing us a picture of the rabbit head. Ugh! The cover for "Christmas at Seaview" looks perfect. Christmas-y but still in the tropics.
