I just happened to be looking out the patio door at the right time and saw a male Goldfinch in his winter plumage land on the round feeder and then fly over to land on a Slinky. I haven't noticed a Goldfinch in a while so I was happy to see this guy today.
The Red-bellied Woodpecker landed on the round feeder instead of the suet nuggets. (See? I wrote nuggets instead of pellets. I can be taught.) I was surprised that it tolerated two Sparrows on the feeder with it. It had to contort itself to be able to stand on the perch and reach into the hole where it spent quite a bit of time prospecting for a peanut. Once it nabbed one it wasted no time in flying away.
The drawing today is called Flight of Creativity. I like it. I'm not good at drawing the bagels of smoke that ring the trail of the box but I'll keep trying. I had a hard time figuring out which part of the trail to erase so that the smoke ring went around the trail. I like the windblown hair of the pilot and copilot. Did you ever fly a cardboard box when you were a kid?
Today's watercolor of Wild Roses isn't the disaster I thought it would be. I misread the directions. The upper flower is supposed to be at an angle so you see where the stem comes out of it but I still think the whole thing turned out okay. The leaves are okay too. I'd like them to be a little more uniform but, hey, they're leaves.
I finished the ribbing and got started on the body of the Alpaca Waffle Hat tonight at Friday Night Knitting. This alpaca yarn is so soft and so nice to knit with. I'm happy to say that I have a LOT of yarn like this so I won't be done knitting with it for a long time. I need to find another pattern to use with it. Maybe some mittens to go with the hat.
I was so frustrated with my computer this morning I could just spit. I signed up for Ad School a while back and there is a series of videos to watch about making ads and manipulating the data and learning how to scale up ads to make them work better. Well, I went on the site this morning to watch a video and they won't play. I cleared my cache, cleared cookies, cleared my history, and restarted the computer on the advice of one of the Ad Squad, the Ad School helper team. I even went and unplugged the modem and replugged it in so that the modem rebooted. Nothing worked. I wonder if the MS update last week screwed something up or maybe my security program won't let them play. Maybe if I log out of Ad School and log back in it'll work. I'll try that tomorrow. If that doesn't work I'm out of ideas. Grr.
I didn't write today. I was too frustrated.

Our computers aren't always our friends. I've gotten so frustrated with this thing that I want to throw something at the screen. I hope you can figure out how to get yours to behave. I love your wild rose. And the flying kids in the carboard box -- especially the one who looks kinda scared.
