Busy Friday

This morning I had my annual checkup and the doc said that I am Excellent!!! and he said it just like that on the report of my blood test.  All of my numbers were within normal range and he said that I'm doing great.  Whew.  That made me feel good because I can be a worrier.  I come from a long line of worriers and even though I try not to be, I am.

The Downy Woodpecker came to enjoy the suet cakes.  It landed first on the platform feeder and then took a ride on the Slinky before landing on the suet cakes for a snack.

After the doctor appointment I stopped at St. Vincent de Paul to drop off the last couple weeks' tosses and swung by Eyemart to look at glasses.  I got a pair of red glasses last month and felt like I wanted some other colors so I looked in the lowest price rack and found these.  The top pair is tortoiseshell and the lower pair is black.  Not very exciting but now I have a variety to choose from.  I wanted more colorful glasses but those frames are not $19.95.  I went with the cheap ones.

Tonight at Friday Night Knitting I worked on the first Edition 3 mitt.  I started with just the cuff and knitted my way through the thumb gusset to starting the hand.  I love the way the colors are stacking up.  I think it looks like a sunrise.  The only problem is that looking at something so close up for three hours makes my eyes blurry for distance so all of the letters I'm typing tonight have ghosts.  In order to see clearly I have to hunch over and squint.  Dandy.  It'll clear up by morning.

Instead of tossing something I tossed the tosses at St. Vinnie de P.

The prompt today asked what sport you'd like to excel at.  I said swimming.  I'm a good swimmer in my fins but I'd like to be a better swimmer without artificial enhancements.  It's just too easy to keep your arms by your sides and kick your fins to move through the water.

Sunrise mittens will be nice on the coming gray days of winter. I love those colors too. Congrats on your excellent report from your doctor. I know what you mean about being a worrier. Me too. But Nancy is the Queen Worrier. Guess she can't help it -- it's in our DNA!
